Internet Services in Lebanon
The Internet
sector
is liberalized in Lebanon, any one can apply to a license
and become ISP. The MoT does not provide direct Internet services to End
users, but have the monopole of the International and national
connectivity. However, Voice
over IP and Videoconferencing are illegal in Lebanon.
Recently, the internet downstream has been allowed to ISP's and internet
users. The stations need to be licensed by the Council of ministries

On Tuesday 3/1/2006, the ministry has signed an agreement with the
private sector Data providers and ISP's to lunch the DSL services in

خدمات الإنترنت في لبنان
ان قطاع الإنترنت في لبنان يمتاز بالتنافسيّة.
فيستطيع أيّاً كان التقدم للحصول على ترخيص تزويد الخدمة مع احتفاظ الوزارة
بحصرية خطوط الاتصال الدولية و المحليّة المستعملة لتقديم الخدمة. علماً أن
خدمات الصوت و الصورة عبر الإنترنت لا تزال تعتبر غير شرعية وفق القوانين
الحالية. مؤخراً تمّ السماح لشركات
الإنترنت و مستخدميه باستعمال تقنية استقبال الإنترنت عبر السواتل
الاصطناعيّة، بعد ترخيص محطاتهم من مجلس الوزراء (مرسوم 8804)

شركات القطاع الخاص لاطلاق خدمة الانترنت السريع في لبنان.
